India’s beauty and bounty have captivated the human imagination for centuries. Countless observers have stood in awe of her majestic landscapes, wild beasts, and exotic flora and fauna. This talk draws on collaborative research on art inspired by India’s natural world and explores the human desire to engage with things of natural beauty and wonder in the format of Mughal albums from the sixteenth to the eighteenth centuries.
