Rare Book School Faculty in the News

We are delighted to share some exciting news about three members of the Rare Book School faculty:

Consuelo Dutschke was awarded the Robert L. Kindrick-CARA Award for Outstanding Service to Medieval Studies by the Medieval Academy of America’s Committee on Centers and Regional Associations. The award recognizes Dutschke’s “leadership in the creation and development of the project known as Digital Scriptorium (DS), which she began in 1997 and which she has ‘patiently and tenaciously’ developed, organized and promoted to the present.”

Fenella France has been appointed a Distinguished Presidential Fellow by the Council on Library and Information Resources (CLIR). In this capacity, France will “help augment CLIR’s Mellon Fellowships in Dissertation Research in Original Sources, strengthen connections within scientific and international communities for the CLIR/DLF Postdoctoral Fellowships, and advise on new opportunities for developing programs that intersect with scientific inquiry and humanistic discourse.”

Last but by no means least, Matthew Kirschenbaum will deliver the 2016 A.S.W. Rosenbach Lectures in Bibliography at the University of Pennsylvania on 14, 15, and 17 March 2016. The three-lecture series is titled “Bitstreams: The Future of Digital Literary Heritage.” Each lecture will be free and open to the public. More information is available here.
