Now Accepting Applications for Fall 2016 Courses

Applications are now being accepted via myRBS for eight Rare Book School courses offered this fall in New York City, Washington, DC, and Charlottesville, VA.

In New York City (16–21 October):

• Developing Collections: Donors, Libraries & Booksellers; taught by Tom Congalton, Johan Kugelberg & Katherine Reagan at the Grolier Club.
• The Printed Book in the West since 1800; taught by Eric Holzenberg at the Grolier Club.
• Special Collections Librarianship; taught by Michael Inman at the New York Public Library.

In Washington, DC (16–21 October):

• The Art & Science of Cartography, 200–1550; taught by John Hessler at the Library of Congress.
• Preservation Imaging: Science, Scholarship, and the Artifact; taught by Fenella France at the Library of Congress.
• Advanced Rare Book Cataloging Workshop; taught by Deborah J. Leslie at the Folger Shakespeare Library.

In Charlottesville, VA (13–18 November):

• Book Illustration Processes to 1900; taught by Terry Belanger.
• Printed Books to 1800: Description & Analysis; taught by David Whitesell.

Course applications are considered on a rolling basis until a course has reached enrollment capacity. To be considered for the first round of admissions decisions, submit your application(s) by 1 July for October courses and by 1 August for November courses. Applications for summer RBS courses are still being considered on a rolling basis; email rbsprograms@virginia.edu for information about course availability.
