Inspired by Fralin Museum of Art at UVA’s longstanding “Writer’s Eye” contest, we challenge writers of all ages to draw on objects in Rare Book School’s Objects of Poetry exhibition as inspiration for composing your own poem.
To participate, submit the following to rbs_exhibitions@virginia.edu by no later than 12:00 p.m. on 23 October 2026:
- Your poem;
- the title(s) of the Objects of Poetry exhibition object(s) that inspired it;
- your name;
- your contact information.
Awardees will be notified the following week and will be invited to read their poems aloud at our closing reception on 30 October, where they will also receive prizes for their work.
