Book Club of Washington Scholarship
The Book Club of Washington (BCW) is dedicated to fostering a vibrant community of bibliophiles passionate about the preservation, appreciation, and history of fine books and the book arts. Through engaging events, BCW connects members with special collections libraries, exhibitions, and educational programs on book history. Our diverse membership includes collectors, scholars, booksellers, librarians, and book artists from across Washington state, united by a shared love for books as historical and artistic objects.
To support individuals pursuing careers in rare books, bibliography, or other book-related fields, BCW offers an annual scholarship for an outstanding applicant to attend a Rare Book School (RBS) course. The scholarship covers tuition for one course and includes a year of membership in BCW.
Applicants should reside in Washington state or work at a Washington-based institution and demonstrate a strong interest in the history of books, bibliography, or book arts. After completing the RBS course, the scholarship recipient will be expected to share their RBS experience at a BCW event or in an article for our Journal.
Applications will be accepted directly by RBS. To apply, please submit an RBS scholarship application by the November 1 deadline. See the main scholarship page for application instructions. Scholarship applicants will be considered for all awards for which they are eligible. Participation in the RBS scholarship program implies acceptance of the scholarship Terms and Conditions.
