Join author and SoFCB Senior Janelle Rebel and interviewer Alison Fraser for a conversation about Rebel’s recent publication Bibliographic Performances & Surrogate Readings (The Everyday Press, 2024). Following this conversation, the audience will have the opportunity to participate in a Q&A session moderated by Holly Borham. Janelle Rebel is currently the Seymour Adelman Director of Special Collections at Bryn Mawr College. She was the curator and head of the Brizdle-Schoenberg Special Collections Center at Ringling College of Art and Design from 2016 to 2023 and the co-founder/co-organizer of the art book fair Paper Jam from 2017–2021. As an artist, curator, and bibliographer, her embodied research practices include experimental bibliography, artist’s publications, theoretical writing, critical graphic design, performance, and inclusive exhibition making. She studied Visual & Critical Studies at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, Library and Information Science at Dominican University, and Fine Arts and Graphic Design at Ball State University.
Alison Fraser is Associate Curator of the Poetry Collection and Curator of the Rare & Special Books Collection at the University at Buffalo. She is the editor of The Collages of Helen Adam and co-editor of Nice: Collected Poems by David Melnick.
Holly Borham is associate curator of prints, drawings, and European art at the Blanton Museum of Art at the University of Texas, Austin.
