Walk-through for Digital Mappa (DM)

Dot Porter

This prerecorded tutorial is cosponsored by the Schoenberg Institute for Manuscript Studies (SIMS) at the University of Pennsylvania, and it was originally published on 13 July 2020.

Digital Mappa, or DM, is an open-source digital humanities platform for open-access workspaces, projects, and publications that was developed at the University of Wisconsin. In this video, Porter takes her audience through the basics of DM, showing some existing projects and how to create new projects. SIMS hosts an implementation of DM; students, faculty, and library and museum professionals in Philadelphia are invited to register for accounts. Others can contact the DM group at the University of Wisconsin for information on how to set up their own implementations of the project: https://www.digitalmappa.org/.
