Rare Book School educates present and future stewards of the historical record. We instruct librarians and archivists, teach educators and scholars, and inform booksellers and collectors, fostering an unparalleled and global community of learning.

Your support provides essential training and expertise for the responsible curation of our shared cultural heritage—skills not taught in formal degree programs. A gift to Rare Book School is a gift to libraries, museums, and educational institutions around the world and to the communities they serve.

Planned Giving

The Malkin Society honors those who have included RBS as a beneficiary in their wills, retirement plans, or charitable trusts. Named in memory of Mary Ann O’Brian Malkin (1913–2005), a longtime supporter of Rare Book School whose planned gift proved vital to the ongoing viability of our programs, the Malkin Society encourages others to emulate her example.

For more information, or if you have already made arrangements to include the School in your planned giving, contact Andrew A. Kuhn, 434-924-0992.
