Two New Job Opening — Wells College


Wells College is hiring two new positions: Director for the Book Arts Center and Victor Hammer Fellow. Review of applications for both positions will begin on 1 March 2023.

Director for the Book Arts Center
The successful candidate will have a clear and collaborative vision for the future of the Center, which includes the undergraduate Book Arts program, the Wells College Press, and Summer Institute and additional Center programming. Duties include but are not limited to collaborating with colleagues; overseeing facilities, equipment, and inventory; managing programs; teaching at least one class per semester; and contributing to the development and marketing of various programs. Applicants for the position should have a minimum of a master’s degree or equivalent experience; excellent skills in binding, letterpress printing, papermaking, and/or other kinds of printmaking; strong grant-writing skills; and successful teaching experience, among other qualifications. Victor Hammer Fellow
The Hammer Fellowship is a two-year (fall 2023 through summer 2025) book artist-in-residence program that was designed to help emerging book artists establish their name in the field. Fellowship responsibilities include teaching two courses each semester; production of work for Wells College Press; contributing to the maintenance of studios; and assisting the director. Applicants must have extensive experience in binding and letterpress printing; experience in teaching; and an MFA in Book Arts or a certificate in a related field. Click here for more information.
