Geiss-Hsu Foundation Scholarship
In 2022, Geiss-Hsu Foundation Scholarships will be awarded to ten students of books and printing in the Ming world. Each scholarship covers full-tuition for one of Rare Book School’s courses on Asian books, including:
- H-85 The History of the Book in China
- H-140 The History and Culture of the Tibetan Book
- H-160 The History of Books and Printing in Korea
- I-85 Japanese Prints and Illustrated Books in Context
Eligible applicants include professionals whose work focuses primarily on the study or care of cultural artifacts from East Asia, as well as non-specialists who wish to develop an interest in this area.
Recipients are expected to submit a brief report reflecting on their course experience and its relation to their research and professional endeavors; reports should be directed to rbs_scholarships@virginia.edu within two weeks of the course.
